How Dilbar.AI handles your voice, your conversations, and your account data.
Last updated: 26 May 2026
1. Who we are
Dilbar.AI is a product of Friendly Characters Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17128418). Our registered office is 253 Hook Road, Chessington, KT9 1EQ, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, we are the data controller for personal information handled by the Dilbar.AI mobile application. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under registration reference ZC137450.
2. What we collect
- Voice audio — sent to Google's Gemini API for real-time conversation processing; not retained after processing.
- Text inputs — sent to the Gemini API; stored as part of conversation history until deleted by you.
- Conversation history — stored on Firebase, associated with your account.
- Phone number — collected when you sign in using phone-number verification; used to create, identify and secure your account.
- Account identifier (Firebase Auth UID) — an identifier created for your account. It is not your name, but because it is linked to your account and phone number it is personal data.
- Device fingerprint — a hashed identifier of your device, used to detect and prevent refund abuse. Because it is used to recognise a device associated with you, it is personal data.
- Payment status from Google Play — we do not process or store payment card details.
- App usage analytics — aggregated, not linked to identity.
Because Dilbar is a conversational companion app, the messages and voice input you choose to send may contain personal information about you — including, if you choose to share it, sensitive details. You decide what you share. We use this content only to provide the Service as described in this policy.
3. How we use it
- Operate the conversation experience.
- Maintain memory across conversations.
- Process payments via Google Play.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Detect and prevent abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information. To generate companion responses, your messages and voice input are processed by Google's Gemini API, as described in sections 2 and 5.
4. Lawful basis (UK / EU GDPR)
- Performance of our contract with you — to provide the Service under our Terms of Service, which apply whether you use Dilbar on a free or paid basis.
- Legitimate interests for security and fraud prevention.
- Consent for optional features.
- Legal obligation where applicable.
5. Where it goes
- Firebase (Google) — for storage and authentication.
- Google Cloud (Gemini API) — for voice and text processing.
- Google Play — for payment processing.
- No other third parties.
6. International transfers
Some of these processors operate internationally. Where personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, we rely on safeguards permitted under UK GDPR and EU GDPR (such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses).
7. Retention
- Voice audio: not retained after processing.
- Conversation history: retained until you delete it (via in-app delete or account deletion).
- Account data: deleted when you delete your account, except for the limited records below.
- Transaction and tax records: where the law requires it (for example, UK tax law), we keep records of transactions for up to 6 years. These contain only what is needed for tax and accounting — such as purchase amounts and dates — not your conversations, voice data or profile.
- Device fingerprints: retained for the refund window (30 days), then deleted.
8. Your rights (UK / EU GDPR + India DPDPA 2023)
- Access, correction, deletion, portability.
- Object to or restrict processing.
- Withdraw consent.
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK) or equivalent regulator.
To exercise rights, email privacy@dilbar.ai or use in-app data deletion.
9. Children
Dilbar.AI is intended for users 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us so we can remove their data.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify users in-app.
11. Contact
For privacy matters, email privacy@dilbar.ai. For data protection inquiries that cannot be resolved by us directly, you may contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
